I hadn’t
bothered to use this as I thought it did much the same job as fotobabble and I
like visuals. So following earthquake “ShakeDown” – Drop, Cover, Hold we read
Jan Grainger’s “Earthquake.” As always I’m trying to create opportunities to
trial a new web tool. I could see that the children could make up lots of sound
effects to add while they read the story. We had fun finding objects to use.
This wasn’t a play but had several different speaking parts. The children
decided who would take the parts. We had one practice to see if the cups and
chairs made the right noises and other chn perfected their barking. I had
started working with just one reading group but the whole class ended up
joining in helping with the sound effects.
I used my
laptop and then emailed the Boo to me which was then posted on the blog for
everyone to hear. The children were excited and thrilled to hear the result. I
can think of lots of other applications for this simple tool. Listen to the
finished recording.
We then used the app to record our stories about Superstorm Sandy and embedded them on the class blog - click the link here - Audioboos on the Bachelors blog - or listen to Josh's one here.
